HickoryTech Foundation Donates $5,000 to Waseca Water Park Company's Foundation pledges $25,000 to the Community Aquatic Center

MANKATO, Minn., Mar. 26, 2007 - The HickoryTech Foundation announces today a donation of $5,000 to the “BEST of Waseca” capital campaign for the Waseca water park. This donation is the third payment as part of a five-year pledge totaling $25,000.
“HickoryTech's contribution to the Waseca water park demonstrates its strong commitment to the community,” said Neil Fruechte, vice president, secretary and treasurer, BEST of Waseca. “We are very appreciative of HickoryTech's donation and are eagerly awaiting the opening of the facility and the benefit it will provide our community.”

“The HickoryTech Foundation is pleased to support Waseca's water park, which will benefit the entire community and serve as a cornerstone for family and community activities,” said R. Wynn Kearney Jr., HickoryTech Foundation chairman. “Investing in the communities we serve is an important objective for HickoryTech and we are proud to be a part of this successful community project.”

The Waseca Water Park, located along County Road 30 in Northeast Park, is scheduled to open in June of 2007. The $3.6 million, 11,000 square foot facility will feature water play areas, a 25-meter lap lane area, plunge pool, 150-foot tube slide, diving board, children's play area, bathhouse, concessions, and picnic area.
