HickoryTech Foundation Announces over $100,000 in Grant Awards
Company's Foundation focuses on Education, Community and Culture
MANKATO, Minn., April 25, 2007—The HickoryTech Foundation announces today its 2007-08 fiscal year grant awards totaling over $100,000. HickoryTech is dedicated to a vision of helping the communities in which it does business and focuses its contributions in the categories of Education, Community and Culture.
Mankato area organizations and programs that will receive grants are as follows:
Minnesota State University-Mankato, Presidential Scholarships, $23,000; South Central College-North Mankato Scholarships, $13,000; Faribault Public Schools, $10,000; EduCare, $5,000; National Youth Sports Program-Gustavus, $5,000; Mankato Symphony Orchestra, $5,000; Minnesota State University-Mankato Theatre, $5,000; Waseca Area Aquatic Center, $5,000; Mankato Salvation Army Thrift Store Project, $3,000; ECHO Food Shelf, $2,500; Junior Achievement, $2,500; Diversity Council of Mankato, $2,000; Girl Scouts Peace Pipe Council, $2,000; South Central College-Faribault, $2,000; Bethany Lutheran College Chamber Music Series, $1,500, Good Counsel Learning Center, $1,000; MRCI, $1,000; Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program, $1,000; and the YWCA-Mankato, $1,000.
Iowa area organizations and programs that will receive grants are as follows:
Bright Beginnings-Sibley, $2,000; City of Hull, $2,000, Hope Haven, $2,000; Bancroft Community Health Center, $1,000; Boyden-Hull Community Schools Challenge-2000, $1,000; Hegg Memorial Health Center, $1,000; Kiwanis Club-Rock Valley Playground, $1,000; and Rock Valley Fire Department, $1,000.

Grants through the HickoryTech Foundation are awarded on an annual basis and through a grant application process. The HickoryTech Foundation focuses its funding on organizations that reside within the Company's service area and support the mission of the HickoryTech Foundation and its categories of giving.
