HickoryTech Foundation Donates $10,000 to Faribault Public Schools

Funds help create new computer labs at elementary schools

MANKATO, Minn., Jan. 29, 2008 — The HickoryTech Foundation announced today a donation of $10,000 to Faribault Public Schools, a final payment in a three-year commitment totaling $30,000. 

The funding will help create new computer labs at Jefferson Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and Roosevelt Elementary. The new computer labs will feature high-end HP workstations with LCD flat panel monitors and various software titles.
 
“The new computer labs will provide state-of-the-art technology to our elementary students,” commented Marcus Milazzo, district technology coordinator.  “HickoryTech's grants have transformed our vision that all students can benefit from appropriate uses of technology into a reality.”

The HickoryTech Foundation provided Faribault Public Schools a $10,000 grant in 2006 to help fund a high school music technology lab and an additional $10,000 grant in 2007 to fund a computer lab at the middle school.
